DOC Maps: Office of Mine Reclamation
The Division of Mine Reclamation (DMR) provides comments to lead agencies on a mining operation’s reclamation plan and financial assurance. While the primary focus is on existing mining operations and the return of those mined lands to a usable and safe condition, the Abandoned Mine Lands program addresses issues with abandoned legacy mines.
DMR publishes GIS data on mine status, commodities produced, lead agencies, and recovery plans. Data on potential sources of mine pollution and mine location are also available by request, though locations of abandoned mines may be protected for public safety purposes.
